DOWNLOADING WITH THE LIBBY APP

GET THE LIBBY APP

1) Download the Libby app to your iOS or Android device.

2) Confirm that you have a library card.

3) Choose "I'll Search For A Library" from the options.

4) Search for "Los Angeles County Office of Education" to find the LACOE library. 

5) Select "Enter Library Account Details" and sign in with your eLS card number (no spaces).

6) Borrow, download, and read/listen to ebooks and eaudiobooks right within the app.

If you are a student or teacher at one of our LACOE school sites, contact eLibrary services and we'll get you all set up with Sora. Your students will be reading in no time!


DOWNLOADING FROM THE eLIBRARY SERVICES CATALOG

IMPORTANT: Be sure to download the Libby app first as you will need the app to access and read any ebooks borrowed via the eLibrary Services Catalog.

TIP: If you intend to read on only one device, we recommend you access the catalog on that device and borrow and download there.

1) Log in with your library card ID on the eLS Catalog and enter "read" for the PIN/password (unless you've changed your PIN, "read" is the default password)

2) Browse, search for, and "Check Out" available items with the  icon

3) Select the appropriate download option

  • Select "EPUB eBook" or "Adobe EPUB eBook" if downloading to the Libby app
  • Select "Kindle" if downloading to your Kindle or the Kindle app (requires an Amazon account)

OR

4) Click "Check Out Now"

5) Open the Libby app (or Kindle if you downloaded the Kindle version) and read/listen right within the app
