OVERDRIVE DOWNLOADING (EDUCATOR COLLECTION)
GET THE OVERDRIVE APP 

1) Download the OverDrive app 

Find information and instructions for your device here

2) Sign up with your library ID

Find library "Los Angeles County Office of Education" 

Enter your library card number, and enter "read" for the PIN/password* 

*Unless you've changed your PIN, "read" is the default 

5) Add a library

Search again for "Los Angeles County Office of Education" 

Tap to add library to your favorites

Tap on library name to go to the collection

6) Browse and search Educator Collection in the OverDrive app

To borrow materials, sign in again with your library card number and PIN when prompted

DOWNLOADING FROM THE OVERDRIVE APP

1) Open the OverDrive app 

2) Log in with your library card number and PIN/password* 

*Unless you've changed your PIN, "read" is the default 

3) Browse, search for, and borrow items

4) Go to "Checkouts" 

5) Select the appropriate download option

Select "EPUB" if downloading to the app

Select "Kindle" if downloading to your Kindle or the Kindle app

The Kindle app requires an Amazon account

OR

Select "OverDrive Read" if you wish to stream instead of download

6) Tap "Confirm & add to app" to download eBook or eAudio

7) Go to your "Bookshelf" and tap on the cover to open and read/listen

DOWNLOADING FROM THE OVERDRIVE WEB PLATFORM

IMPORTANT: Be sure to download the OverDrive app first as you will need the app to access and read eBooks borrowed and downloaded via the web platform.

TIP: If you intend to read on only one device, we recommend you open the app on that device and borrow and download there. For downloading to more than one device, see Downloading to Multiple Devices below.

1) Log in with your library card ID on the OverDrive web platform, and enter "read" for the PIN/password*

*Unless you've changed your PIN, "read" is the default

2) Browse, search for, and borrow items

3) Go to "Checkouts" 

4) Select the appropriate download option

DOWNLOADING TO MULTIPLE DEVICES

1) Open the app on the device you wish to download to

2) Go to the "Los Angeles County Office of Education" library

3) Log in with your library card ID and enter "read" for the PIN/password*

*Unless you've changed your PIN, "read" is the default

4) Go to the "Account" page and find "Checkouts"

5) Select the item you wish to download and click "Add to app"

6) Go to your "Bookshelf" and tap on the cover to open and read/listen

DOWNLOADING FROM THE eLIBRARY SERVICES CATALOG

IMPORTANT: Be sure to download the OverDrive app first as you will need the app to access and read any eBooks borrowed via the eLibrary Services Catalog.

TIP: If you intend to read on only one device, we recommend you access the Catalog on that device and borrow and download there. For downloading to more than one device, see Downloading to Multiple Devices above.

1) Log in with your library card ID on the eLS Catalog and enter "read" for the PIN/password*

*Unless you've changed your PIN, "read" is the default

2) Browse, search for, and check out items with the  icon

3) Select the appropriate download option

Select "ePub eBook" if downloading to the OverDrive app

Select "Kindle" if downloading to your Kindle or the Kindle app

The Kindle app requires an Amazon account

OR

Select "OverDrive Read" if you wish to stream instead of download

4) Download

5) If the OverDrive app doesn't automatically open, open it and go to "Bookshelf" 

6) Tap on a cover to open and read/listen
